Kelly's Ranch was founded and is operated by Jerry Kelly, a local (Warumungu) Aboriginal, who was born at Alroy Downs Station in the Barkly Region, Northern Territory, and is a Traditional Aboriginal Owner from the region.
Jerry is very passionate about outback life and the pastoral He has also spent many years teaching horse riding skills and taking people on bush tucker trail rides in the local region and has been very successful in training local indigenous youth in horse and cattle handling skills so that they can get employment on cattle stations in the Northern Territory. Jerry loves teaching horse riding skills and sharing sharing stories about the old days and a stockman’s life, where to find bush tucker, and loves getting to know his guests over a cup of billy tea and damper cooked on an open fire.
